This is a reissue; the first edition appeared in 1893 and contained a different title page., street-trader, book-stall, kiosk, A detailed black and white etching shows a group of people standing outdoors near a low railing with a distant city skyline and tree branches overhead; several men wear long coats and hats, including tall top hats and bowler hats, and one woman with a feathered hat holds a folded item; one man holds an open small book while another appears to show or take papers from a wooden box on a stand; an umbrella and bundled items rest near the figures, and the scene is rendered with fine crosshatching and line work creating textured clothing, facial hair, and architectural silhouettes in the background.
