The text is framed by scrollwork., printmaker: Simon Frisius, Haarlem, after design by Jan van de Velde (I), Rotterdam, 1605, paper, engraving, gravure, height 210 mm x width 320 mm, calligraphy, A large sheet with dense black ink flourishes sweeping across the surface, featuring many looping curved lines that overlap and intersect to form ornate spirals and rounded shapes, with several thicker strokes accenting some curves; towards the center-right an area of tightly spaced cursive strokes forms a block of flowing handwritten script, and smaller decorative swirls cluster around and within that area; the background is a light, slightly textured paper with subtle age-toned edges, and the overall composition is dominated by elegant calligraphic ornamentation filling much of the upper and middle portions while the lower margin remains relatively open.
