Inside and around the border are many flowing curvilinear flourishes and spirals that form decorative shapes, including a stylized figure composed of tight loops and curls holding an oval of concentric rings. Fine pen strokes create delicate featherlike lines and elongated sweeping curves that extend outward across the page. The composition features varied line thicknesses, from very thin hairlines to bolder strokes, and the overall palette is a single dark ink against the light background.
