Centered on the cloth is a human face with long hair and a beard, the face looking forward with a neutral expression and circled by a crown of thorns resting on the head. The cloth has decorative edging along one side and gathers at the bottom where it rests on a flat horizontal surface with crosshatched shading. The image is framed by a narrow border and surrounded by a wider blank margin.
