The tree beside him has textured bark and branches extending upward, and a beam of light with parallel lines appears to originate from the upper right area and strike the tree. In the lower right foreground a curled sheep lies on the ground near the rocks. The background consists of hatched shading and a suggestion of distant foliage on the left.
