David Teniers likely produced an oil study on canvas or panel (a so-called pasticcio) of every painting in the collection of Leopold William of Austria, which served as models for the printmakers. It is not always clear whether the pasticci were made by him or by his studio. Not all pasticci have survived., fan, anonymous historical person portrayed alone - BB - woman, Two engraved rectangular portraits appear side by side on aged paper separated by a vertical blank margin. The left portrait shows a partially draped female figure with a bare torso and a cloth wrapped around her lower body and shoulder, wearing a garland of flowers in her curled hair; one hand holds the cloth across her chest while the other presents a tray with round pastries. The right portrait shows a woman in a dress with a wide neckline and decorative sleeves, her hair styled in braids that fall over her shoulders, one hand resting on a closed book on a small plinth and the other raised near her chest holding a light fabric; both portraits are rendered with fine crosshatching and dark tonal backgrounds within framed borders.
