In the foreground three figures stand near the bank: one wearing a hat and carrying a sword and umbrella, another holding a bow with a quiver on the back and wearing a long robe, and a third partly hidden behind a tree with one arm raised. A deer is depicted leaping in the water with another small animal nearby, while water ripples and marshy plants edge the shore. Tall slender trees and clustered foliage frame the left side near a simple house with a tiled roof and a small arched gateway where two people stand visible through the opening. The composition is enclosed within a thin border.
