The kiln sits on a stone base with an arched opening revealing tools and a shallow hearth inside. Various metalworking tools and vessels are arranged around the kiln, including tongs, a hammer, a bucket, and a small anvil or stand. A wooden frame with straps and a bellows-like object leans against one side. Foliage surrounds the scene with a windswept tree to the left and dense shrubbery behind the kiln. The foreground shows a grassy, slightly undulating ground and a wooden plank or trough lying near the lower edge. The sky above is filled with textured cloud formations.
