Surrounding the central image is a wide rectangular border richly decorated with various botanical illustrations, including stylized flowers, buds, leaves, and a butterfly, arranged along the top, sides, and bottom edges. Below the oval is a rectangular panel containing lines of cursive script, and the lower margin features additional floral ornaments and flowing ribbonlike forms. The entire composition is executed in fine monochrome engraving with intricate line work and shading.
