This print is part of an album., number, watermark, printmaker: Christian Philipp Lindemann, Augsburg, after drawing by Johann Daniel Herz (I), c. 1725 - c. 1730, Bavaria, paper, engraving, etching, height 240 mm x width 160 mm, 50-60 years, A detailed black and white engraving shows a classical interior with tall columns and an elevated throne area partially covered by a draped canopy. A seated figure wearing an ornate robe and a large curled wig or headpiece gestures with one hand while holding a small object in the other. Around the throne are several standing and seated men in period clothing with long coats and wigs, some leaning forward and looking toward the seated figure, one man reclining and appearing supported by another, and one man standing to the right with his hand near his face. Architectural details include balustrades, arches, and a sculpted bust in a niche. Heavy fabric folds, carved stone elements, and finely hatched shading are used throughout the composition. Below the scene a large area of printed text occupies the lower portion of the page.
