The left figure leans forward, one arm supporting the small figure and the other holding a curved object above it, while the right figure reaches toward the small figure with both hands and has a draped cloth around the waist. The small central figure is curled and appears to be asleep, partially covered by a cloth. Large feathered wings rise behind the seated figures, and soft folds of fabric lie beneath and around them. Crosshatched shading fills the background and defines contours and shadows, while fine etched lines render the anatomy, hair, and fabric textures throughout the composition.
