Surrounding them are other figures in elaborate attire, some partially obscured, their faces rendered with delicate, soft features and varied hairstyles; one figure behind the couple holds a garland or floral arrangement arching above them. The scene is executed in a densely hatched, sketchlike style with strong contrasts between dark, heavily crosshatched areas and lighter, more detailed portions, and the background contains vigorous, energetic strokes that create a textured, shadowed space behind the group. The lower portion shows detailed rendering of shoes and the hem of garments, and scattered floral elements on the ground.
