The room features ornate carved columns and decorative moldings, a large vase on a mantel or sideboard, an upholstered chair with a patterned cushion, patterned parquet flooring, and a tall window with panes letting light into the space. The clothing includes knee-length coats, breeches, stockings, and buckled shoes, and a bowed string instrument rests against the standing man's side. The image is rendered with fine crosshatched lines and detailed shading.
