The upper portion shows a domed structure topped by flame-like decorative elements, layered scrollwork, and carved mask motifs. Beneath the dome the canopy flares into a heavily decorated cornice with acanthus leaves, volutes, and sculpted faces, and a recessed underside containing a carved reclining bearded figure set among cloud-like forms. Supporting the canopy are pairs of twisted and fluted columns with richly carved capitals and brackets, each side adorned with winged cherub-like figures and floral garlands. The projecting balcony below is enclosed by a balustrade of framed panels embellished with shell motifs, cartouches, and applied foliage, with turned balusters and small sculpted medallions at the base. Hanging beneath an arched opening is a festoon of drapery and a suspended floral swag, and the entire composition is rendered in fine line hatching and crosshatching on a neutral ground.
