The figures show different poses: a seated woman with her arms raised toward her head and a dark, textured mass around her head; a standing woman with arms lifted behind her head and a soft, shadowed face; a slender, frontal figure walking with arms hanging down; a more detailed, upright figure framed by dense, hatched shading and surrounded by flowing, textured marks suggesting drapery or foliage; and a profile figure on the right with hands held near the face. The sketches vary in darkness and finish, with some areas rendered in heavier shading and others left light and sketchy. The paper has a warm, slightly textured tone visible between the drawings.
