Below and slightly left a woman in a headscarf cradles a small child wrapped in cloth, looking down at the child, while a man in period clothing with a cloak stands nearby facing them. A young woman bent forward on the right holds a small object toward the child from the edge of a large wooden chest. In the foreground on the floor are a pair of boots and a basket with other small items. Through a distant opening on the left, faint figures and tree foliage are visible beyond the interior.
