The print was first published in part 1: Topographia Galliae, 1655., church (exterior), Église Noviciat des Jésuites, A wide scene showing a pale sky with layered pastel clouds in shades of blue, pink, and lavender above an architectural view of a grand stone church with a classical façade, decorative columns, a central arched doorway, statues set into niches, and a triangular pediment topped with ornamental crosses and finials; adjoining the church are smaller connected buildings and towers with blue-gray roofs and arched gateways, a tall brick building with a steep roof and dormer windows, and a low red wall extending across the right side; small groups of people and a few figures on horseback are scattered on the sandy foreground near the church steps and along the open plaza, with patches of green grass at the very front and clusters of trees behind some buildings.
