The representation is supplemented at the top with a painted sky., city-view in general, 'veduta', river, Meulan-en-Yvelines, A wide pale sky with layered horizontal washes of blue, pink, and cream fills the upper area, with soft cloud shapes and faint linear shading; below the sky a green rolling hillside rises, topped by clustered buildings including a prominent church with a tall steeple and other small rooftops in muted reds and blues, surrounded by fortification walls and pathways; nearer the foreground a waterfront scene shows a calm body of water with a sailing boat at anchor, a small jetty, and low grassy spits of land, while another church tower and scattered houses sit along the shoreline to the right.
