A woman sits on the floor near a window with diamond-paned glass, holding a small child while a woven basket with a blanket and a small bundle rests nearby. A second child sits on the floor playing with an object, and a figure leans out of the window looking inward. Scattered on the floor are a pair of wooden clogs, pieces of cloth, and other small items. A chair and a stool stand near a small hearth with a rounded opening, and various household vessels hang from beams or sit on surfaces. The drawing is rendered in fine lines and washes, emphasizing textures of wood, fabric, and stone.
