Abendgebet der Araber (original title on object), Praying men with turbans, print, Three camels in the background on the left., number: 'II', printmaker: Harrie Kuyten (signed by artist), 1893 - 1935, paper, etching, intaglio printmaking technique, height 119 mm x width 198 mm, head-gear: turban, hoofed animals: camel, (private) prayer, 'Oratione', 'Preghiere', 'Preghiere a Dio' (Ripa), A wide, pale paper surface with faint sketch lines shows a group of robed figures clustered on the left, drawn with simple contours and curved lines suggesting heads bowed and elongated garments; some figures appear to have hands or sleeves extended while others are hunched. Toward the right a single robed figure stands slightly apart, bent forward with detailed shading on the shoulders and back, holding or leaning over an indistinct object. The foreground contains long, straight strokes resembling poles or planks and a rectangular, hatched form lying flat. Scattered curved marks and small shaded shapes lie near the lower edge. The overall image is rendered in delicate, fine ink lines with areas of smudging and light textured marks across the paper.
