The bridge has a few taller vertical piers rising above its parapet and textured shading along its surfaces. On the far left a tall, dark, blocky structure rises from the riverbank, and on the far right a series of buildings with vertical towers and spires sit behind the bridge. In the foreground a dark, ridged riverside area stretches across the bottom of the image, and a rectangular, low building with a flat roof projects toward the water near the right side. Two small figures wearing bright garments stand on the riverside near one of the bridge piers. The drawing uses soft, fine lines and subtle tonal shading in a sepia palette.
