In the background more figures are faintly sketched, some seated beside stacks of harvested material, and distant suggestions of buildings and low hills line the horizon. The sky is filled with short, hatched lines and the ground is rendered with dense crosshatching and textured strokes. The overall scene is composed of detailed linear shading and varied hatchwork creating depth and form.
