To the right of the bird is a tall vase with a rounded body on an ornate stand, and a lizard-like creature clings to the vase with its tail curling down and body coiled around the neck. A rolled scroll forms a decorative border on each side, the left scroll topped by a crouching monkey and the right scroll intersected by a branch with a small perched bird. Near the top a thin horizontal line suggests a distant horizon with a crescent shape and a few small birds perched on a line, while various fine dots and aged marks appear across the paper.
