A woman in a long dress and apron stands beside the wheel, her hair tied back and one foot slightly raised, holding a bundle or basket at her side. Several rounded clay jugs and a small barrel lie near the base of the wheel, and a shallow basket rests on the ground nearby. Behind the wheel a dark recessed area suggests a doorway or interior space, while to the side rough foliage and a leaning pole create a textured background. The foreground ground surface is crosshatched and uneven, with scattered small debris and straw-like lines.
