A person wearing a bonnet or large cap holds a magnifying glass near their face and smiles, while a headless skull is presented on a platter by a raised arm of a robed figure. Shelves with jugs and a small hanging mug are visible on the wall, a barrel sits at the foot of the bed, and various garments, hats, and draped fabrics fill the composition, all rendered in fine etched lines and strong crosshatching.
