She holds a long pole resting on her shoulder that extends across the scene and ends with a wooden frame of rungs. The ground around her is grassy with patches of bare earth and short vegetation, and a faint path winds into the distance. In the midground there are slender, tall tree trunks and rounded shrubs, and the horizon line separates the field from a sky marked by fine, linear cloud strokes. The overall image is composed of delicate, crosshatched lines and varied etching marks creating texture in the clothing, vegetation, and sky.
