Several figures in period clothing gather around the fountain; one person sits on a horse while others stand or kneel nearby, some carrying or holding pottery and jugs. A doorway to the right reveals two men inside a shopfront with hanging circular objects near the entrance. Additional figures, including children, move through the foreground where overturned barrels, scattered pottery, and a dog appear on the uneven cobbled ground. Curtains hang from windows and potted plants sit on a small balcony above the doorway.
