Architectural elements include an arched doorway set into a small building at mid-left, and rocky cliffs and ledges rise behind it toward the upper right where winged, monstrous creatures are depicted among flames and jagged rocks. In the lower left a few horizontal rectangular compartments contain reclining figures, and nearby an older robed man holds a long scroll while other figures gesture around him. Trees of different shapes dot the middle ground, and small animals and birds appear among the rocks and vegetation. Faces show a range of expressions and many figures carry staffs, banners, or objects, while the whole composition is dense with overlapping figures and detailed garments.
