In the middle distance a belt of darker trees and denser foliage separates the foreground from a low-lying town of light-colored buildings with flat and pitched roofs, among which a tall slender tower and a few other vertical structures rise above the rooftops. Beyond the town the land stretches flat toward a distant, pale horizon beneath a wide, pale sky.
