Near the center a covered cart with large wheels stands on the track, accompanied by two upright figures close by. Tire or wheel ruts run along the path leading toward distant low hills. Sparse tufts of grass and scattered vegetation appear in the foreground and along the edges of the track. The overall tones are muted and sepia-like, with soft contrasts and a hazy sky above the dunes.
