Around the frame are detailed depictions of helmets and armor, robed busts with ornate headgear, musical instruments like a lute and a drum with sticks, and crossed weapons such as spears and halberds. The design includes symmetrical ornamental flourishes, festoons, and small fruiting branches interwoven with curving lines and geometric frame borders, all rendered in fine dark ink on aged, lightly spotted paper.
