In front of the building a busy street scene shows many horse-drawn carriages and people walking, some wearing long coats and hats and a few carrying umbrellas. Lamp posts and decorative sculptural elements are visible near the entrance, and adjacent buildings flank the main structure on either side. The whole scene appears in a single warm, sepia tone.
