The stone bases of the columns show wear and textural variation, and vertical shafts extend upward to intersect with ribbed arches and timber trusses. In the background a balcony with balustrade and a stair are visible between the columns, and the floor appears pale and worn. The overall scene is monochrome and softly lit, with areas of brighter light near the windows and darker shadows among the beams.
