The cobbled ground in front of the arch slopes slightly and meets the base of the wall. To the left of the arch a lower stone wall and dense foliage with tall trees are visible, and a bare-branched tree rises behind the structure. The right side of the image is dominated by a tall, textured stone wall with visible joints and weathering, and the upper portion of the scene shows a flat-roofed structure with railings and a simple metal framework against a cloudy sky.
