Tall ornate candlestands and suspended chandeliers with visible flames hang from the ceiling, casting light over the assembly. Decorative shields, laurel wreaths, and draped fabrics adorn the walls behind the crowd, and large statues or sculpted figures are visible in niches. Several clergymen or officials stand near the casket, one with an outstretched arm, while rows of seated and standing attendees face toward the central area. The foreground includes close-up views of uniformed men from behind, and ornate architectural details and pedestals frame the sides of the composition.
