One woman sits on a raised seat, partially undressed, with another woman behind her arranging or holding her hair while a third woman to the right leans forward holding a bowl and a cloth. A fourth woman kneels to the left near a large vessel, reaching toward it. The background features a large tied curtain on the left, a curtained opening behind the group, and a dark paneled wall with a window and a covered urn on a pedestal to the right. The composition is framed by a decorative border and a block of printed text beneath the image.
