Several women wear elaborate gowns with puffed sleeves, ruffled collars, or decorative headwear; others wear more tailored or theatrical outfits with tights or boots. Backgrounds vary between plain studio backdrops and softly rendered scenic or painted settings. Between rows of images there are pale horizontal bands containing printed elements.
