The man grasps a tall wooden tripod or frame that extends above him, from which a suspended flat board and a hanging net with a wide mesh drape down in front of him and over the floor. A large rounded clay pot with a curved opening rests on the floor beside him, partially obscured by the net. The background is plain and darker inside the oval, contrasted with a lighter border outside it.
