Fig. 12.', photographer: John Dean, printmaker: Bradford & Co, LH, c. 1854 - in or before 1864, paper, photolithography, height 301 mm x width 230 mm, brains, A vertical sheet with a thin rectangular border contains four circular grayscale images arranged in two rows, each circle bordered by a dark ring; the images show textured, irregular organic patterns with light and dark mottling and smooth transitions, including lighter crescent-shaped areas near the edges and varied grainy shading across each circle, with subtle curved striations and patches of smoother highlights; the top two circles sit near the upper half of the sheet and the bottom two near the middle, leaving margins of blank pale paper around them.
