Higgins' Photo-Mounter, Pot of Higgin's adhesive for mounting photos, page, photomechanical print, advertisement, Page is an advertisement from the firms Higgin and Robinson and Hinton, inscription: 'This is an entirely novel and superior adhesive, ', c. 1884 - in or before 1894, photographer, printmaker, paper, autotype, height 53 mm x width 35 mm, Print in back advertisement section., gluing (industrial process), A vertically oriented printed page with two distinct advertisement sections separated by a thin border; the top section features an illustration of a jar with a lid positioned left of a block of small printed paragraphs, and a large bold headline spanning the page above them; the jar illustration shows a cylindrical body with a detailed label and a rounded screw-top lid with textured shading; below the jar and text is a line of smaller text and a narrow rule. The lower section is framed with an ornate rectangular border and decorative woodgrain-like patterning around a bold stylized title block at the top of that framed area; inside the frame is a smaller centered panel with a rectangular border containing several lines of printed copy and decorative flourishes, and to the left of this panel is a vertical decorative element with stylized lettering and a block of text beneath it. The overall page shows aged paper with faint spotting and slight darkening along the edges.
