People in period dress stand, walk, and browse among the stalls, some appearing blurred by motion, while a few men stand more clearly in the foreground. Horse-drawn carts and carriages are visible along the street amid clusters of pedestrians, and tall shop façades with windows and decorative architectural details rise on both sides. A tall wooden pole with wires runs up near the center of the image, and distant buildings and rooftops fade into a lighter background. The overall image is monochrome and framed with a white border.
