Three people sit and stand near the boats on the pebbles; one person stands beside the nearest boat wearing a dark jacket and a hat, another reclines on the pebbles with head propped and legs extended, and a third sits facing the water wearing a head covering and vest. Tall white cliffs rise steeply along the right side of the scene with textured rock faces and scattered darker streaks, and several rocky sea stacks emerge from the water a short distance offshore with a slender cylindrical structure on the nearest stack. The overall image has a muted, aged tone.
