In the middle ground there are architectural elements including a tall steeple with a pointed top, a building with gabled rooflines and arched windows, and an arched gateway with a figure framed beneath it. Leafless trees and shrubs appear around the buildings. In the foreground a group of people stand together, some reaching or pointing upward, while a small dog leaps near the bottom edge. The scene is rendered with fine parallel and crosshatched lines creating texture and shadow.
