The top scene shows a rural landscape with a cloudy sky, trees flanking an open area, a small building with a pitched roof at the left edge, and mounted riders in the foreground and background; one rider in the foreground is shown galloping across a path while other riders and foot figures appear behind him. The lower scene depicts a military encampment with a group of uniformed soldiers gathered around a central table where one seated figure appears to be writing or signing, several officers on horseback to the right, a wheeled carriage or cart at the left, and a crowd of troops and tents extending into the distance under a broad sky.
