Men in classical-style armor and tunics walk and ride, some carrying long spears and banners while others hold large urns and shields. Several figures wear helmets and plumed headgear, and some are partially turned, revealing muscular backs and limbs. Horses are harnessed and ridden by armored figures, their bodies rendered with shading and crosshatching. In the background, smaller figures stand atop the arch waving or gesturing, while a group of onlookers gathers near the archway. Decorative standards, draped fabric, and ornate reliefs on the arch are visible, and the sky is filled with horizontal hatching. The composition is dense with overlapping figures and objects, rendered in fine engraved lines and tonal variation.
