One woman faces forward with a tense expression, hair tied back under a headscarf, wearing a flowing dress and shawl with sleeves stretched as if pushing or restraining. The other woman leans backward with her head thrown back, mouth open, and hair loose, her hands raised near her face and her dress billowing around her lower body. The fabric of their garments is rendered with strong shading and folds, and their bare feet are visible on the ground. The background is mostly blank with faint horizontal shading and the image is framed by a thin border.
