Print originates from a scrapbook containing title prints, ornaments, etc. on blue paper that was disassembled in 1983. According to a note on the verso, the print was located on p. 202 of this album., Justice, 'Justitia', 'Giustitia divina' (Ripa), one of the Four Cardinal Virtues, civil law, public library, A detailed black and white engraving of an interior scene showing seated and standing figures among stacks of books and shelves, with a domed ceiling and architectural columns in the background; a central seated bearded man reads from an open large book on a round pedestal while a standing figure beside him gestures and holds long objects; other figures read, carry books, or reach for volumes on tall shelving along a staircase; folded drapery hangs at the upper left and statues or reliefs are visible in recessed niches along the curved wall behind the dome; numerous piled and open books lie on the floor and furniture in the foreground.
