The winged figure extends a wreath toward a central soldier who wears a plumed helmet and holds a long spear, with additional soldiers bearing shields and spears grouped behind him. In the foreground a fallen figure lies on the ground partially draped, and a broken wheel and cart are visible to the side. Architectural columns and ruins rise in the background beyond rolling terrain, while decorative cherubic figures sit on the upper corners of the frame, each holding rounded objects, and a small oval cartouche at the top contains a pastoral scene of animals on a shoreline.
