A horse stands near the smoke while three men stand beside it, one holding its reins and another holding a staff; two of the men wear simple garments and head coverings. A group of onlookers, including several with hands raised or clasped, forms a dense mass to the left, some partially obscured by smoke. Behind the horse is a low wall of woven material and beyond it a rustic round hut with a thatched roof and a small fenced enclosure. The sky is filled with textured clouds, and the scene is framed by clusters of trees with detailed foliage extending from both sides.
