A wooden fence and stepped stone path lead down to a shallow river where several children and a few adults are wading and playing, some holding hands or pulling a rope. In the middle distance two riders on horseback gallop along a path through a wooded area. Tall trees with dense foliage frame the scene on the right and extend into a forested background, while a sky filled with layered clouds occupies the upper portion of the image. The foreground ground textures show grass, rocks, and rippling water.
